Janson Baugniet

Stephan Wyckaert studied at the University of Ghent where he graduated in Law (1985) and Criminology (1987) with magna cum laude.
In June 2003 he obtained the degree of Doctor of laws.

He was member of the bar of Ghent from 1986 till 2000 and of the Antwerp Bar from 2005 till 2007.
Since 2007, he is member of the Public Law Department at Janson Baugniet. He also lectures at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

His main professional interests are: ethics and administration, property rights, environmental and land management law,-public-private partnerships, private security issues, constitutional law and European law, legislative matters and public affairs, law and language.

Stephan Wyckaert gives lectures in Belgium and abroad, most of them about public law and/or freedom-related issues. He is author of a large number of articles on public law issues. He has organized several international projects and seminars. He is also member of the Flemish “Attorney’s society for Public Law” and of the editorial board of "Chroniques de droit public – Publiekrechtelijke Kronieken".
