François Glansdorff graduated in law in 1968 and obtained an LL.M. in business law (Université Libre de Bruxelles - U.L.B.) in 1970. He joined Janson Baugniet since his admittance to the Bar in 1968.

He was an assistant at the Université Libre de Bruxelles for the lecture of law of contracts and torts from 1969 to 1986. He has been the vice-chairman of the Law Faculty of the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Since 1970, he has published about 150 legal comments (papers, notes on case-law, reports, conference papers, etc.) dedicated to various questions of private law (contact law, commercial law, banking law, company law, liabilities). He drafted the report of many conferences on these topics.

François Glansdorff's expertise as an attorney-at-law covers the same fields, either as an adviser, as a barrister or as an arbitrator.

He was a member of the Bar Council of Brussels from 1987 to 1987, after giving lectures on legal proceedings to attorneys-at-law during their traineeship with a view to the Bar admission exam (CAPA - Certificat d'aptitude à la profession d'avocat). He was elected Chairman of the French speaking Bar of Brussels for 1996 to 1998. He then, until 2001, was the first Chairman of the French and German speaking Bar Association of Belgium (Ordre des barreaux francophones et germanophone - O.B.F.G.), after the disbanding of the Belgian national Bar. He published several studies and took part on several conferences about professional ethics in the Bar.

He is a member of the editorial board of several legal journals (Journal des Tribunaux, ex-Journal des Procès, Revue générale des Assurances et des responsabilités, Tribune de l'O.B.F.G.). He is also a member of the Institute of Human Rights of the Brussels Bar (Institut des droits de l'Homme du Barreau de Bruxelles) and of the Institute for Studies on Justice (Institut d'études sur la Justice).
