Henri-Paul Lemaître, born in 1947, graduated in law, obtained an LL.M. in business law (Université Libre de Bruxelles), a master of laws (University of Harvard, U.S.A.) and is a Graduate Fellow of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, U.S.A.).

He specialised in company law, mergers and acquisitions and in capital markets. He is the head of the department of the same name within the law firm Janson Baugniet.

He frequently intervenes in delicate cases, both as an advisor and a barrister, especially within the framework of takeovers and disputes between shareholders.

His expertise also covers arbitration, at the Belgian and international level, as an advisor or as an arbitrator.

Mr Lemaître is lecturer in the Solvay Business School (Université Libre de Bruxelles), where he gives a lecture about introduction to business law, within the framework of the Master in management (D.E.S. en gestion). He also lectures on international business law within the framework of the Master program in general management organised by the Open University (Ho Chi Minh City) and National Economics University (Hanoi), in Vietnam.

He as published numerous papers in legal journals and conferences dedicated to company law and financial law.
He was a member of the Board of the Brussels Bar. He is a member of the International Arbitration Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (I.C.C.) (deputy for the Belgian national committee) and a member of the Belgian Centre for Mediation and Arbitration (CEPANI/CEPINA).
Mr Lemaître is fluent in French and English.
