Prescillia ALGRAIN (1987) obtained a Master's degree in Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (2010). She also completed an Erasmus Belgica at the University of Ghent (2010) and obtained an LL.M. in European Competition Law and IP Law from the University of Liège (2012).
She joined Janson Baugniet in 2012. She practises in the fields of economic law, with a specific interest in consumer credit law.

Andries Ken

Ken Andries (born 1981) graduated in Law at KULeuven in 2004. He also holds a degree in Education from the same university (2006).

From 2004 to 2010 he was active as a full-time assistant at KULeuven's Department of Economic Law. He also worked part-time as a company lawyer. From 2006 to 2010 he prepared a doctoral thesis on Non-Disclosure Agreements, which he publically defended on 19 October 2010.

From 2010 to 2011 he was employed by KULeuven as a Doctor-Assistant (post-doc).

In 2011 he joined the Brussels Bar and the law firm Janson Baugniet. He has also been appointed as professor at the Hasselt University.

He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Nederlands-Vlaams Tijdschrift voor Mediation en Conflictmanagement and is a research fellow at KULeuven.

His specialist fields are the law of obligations, contract drafting & litigation, commercial law, intellectual property law and alternative dispute resolution.

Jens BENOOT (born 1987) obtained a Master's degree in Law from Ghent University (2010 ). He also obtained a Master's degree in Economic Law (specialising in Enterprise) from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (2011).

He practises in the field of economic law, with a specific interest in insolvency and corporate law.

Since September 2014, Jens has held a position as a part-time teaching assistant at KULeuven, Instituut voor Contractenrecht.

Bermond Lucille

 
Lucille Bermond (born in 1984) graduated from the Brussels University School of Law in June of 2008.  is member of our Corporate practice and Lucille is member of our Finance industry. 

She has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2008.

Prior to joining Janson Baugniet in March 2014, she was an associate at Lydian and VDE Legal.

Lucille Bermond has considerable experience in commercial and corporate law, and broad expertise in restructuring and bankruptcy, the law of continuity of enterprises and lease contracts.

Lucille was appointed as an administrator by the Commercial Court of Brussels in 2013, becoming the youngest administrator in the judicial district at that time.

Charles Bernard (1985) holds a Law degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (2008).

Cassiman Johannes

 

Johannes Cassiman (°1990) graduated with magna cum laude as master in law at the university of Ghent (2013). During his master studies, Johannes studied for six months at the ‘Université de Montpellier' (France). 

Currently he is participating at the trilingual LLM in Intellectual property and ICT law organized by the KU Leuven and the HUBrussel.

Johannes Cassiman specializes in Intellectual property law, ICT law, market practices and media law.

Daem Elisabeth

Elisabeth Daem (born 1990) graduated cum laude as a Master in Law from KULeuven (2015). For her Master's thesis, she joined the iLinc programme (an EU initiative) and gave judicial advice within the field of IP/IT law to various Belgian start-ups. While studying for her Master's degree, Elisabeth spent six months at the University of Helsinki in Finland (2013). In Finland, she participated in the Nordic IP Moot Court competition.

Before her law studies, Elisabeth obtained a Master's degree in Art Science and Archaeology at the VUBrussel (2011). While studying for her Bachelor's degree, Elisabeth spent six months at the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III in France (2010).

Since October 2015, Elisabeth has been a member of the Brussels Bar. She joined Janson Baugniet and is combining her internship with the trilingual LLM programme in IP/ICT organised by KULeuven and HUBrussel.

As a junior associate, Elisabeth practises in the field of intellectual property law, ICT law, privacy law and market practices and, in general, in the field of commercial law.

Declerck Ruth

Ruth Declerck (°1982) graduated with distinction as a Master in Law (University of Ghent, 2012), having completed these studies as a working student.

Ruth also obtained a Master’s degree in classical languages (University of Ghent, 2004, distinction) and a degree in International relations and conflict management (KULeuven, 2005).

From 2005 to 2012 she worked as a policy advisor on international and European environmental policy at the Flemish Government. Since 2012 she has been a member of the bar of Ghent.

In 2016 she joined Janson Baugniet. She specializes in commercial law, corporate law and banking law.

At this moment she finalizes her education as a mediator in civil and commercial matters.

Dossche Florence

 

Florence Dossche (°1987) obtained her Bachelor’s degree in law from the Facultés Universitaires Saint-Louis in 2008 and her Master in law from the Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve in 2010 (magna cum laude).

Afterwards she obtained an LLM in international and human rights law from the Bond University in Australia (2011; magna cum laude), where she also worked as a research assistant. She subsequently volunteered in NGOs involved in human rights in Ghana (Accra) and in international criminal law in the United Kingdom (London).

She was admitted to the Brussels’ Bar and joined Janson Baugniet in September 2013.

Florence’s practice covers mainly liability law, medical law and insurance law. Her daily works consists mostly in defending victims of traffic accidents, medical practice, etc. in order to obtain reparation for the injury caused to them. In this regard, she regularly pleads before the Belgian courts and tribunals.

Bérénice FOSSÉPREZ (born 1987) obtained her Bachelor's degree in Law from the Facultés universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix in Namur (2008 - first class honours) and her Master's degree in Law from the Université catholique de Louvain (2010 - first class honours). 

She was admitted to the Brussels Bar in September 2010 and has also held a position as a teaching and research assistant in contract law at the Facultés universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix since October 2010.    

She mainly practises insurance law, tort law and contract law.

Fraikin, Alexandre

Alexandre FRAIKIN (born 1984) graduated in Law from the Université de Liège (2007, cum laude) and obtained a Master's degree in Environmental Law from the University of Ghent (2008, distinction). While studying for his Bachelor's degree he also spent some time at the Freie Universität Berlin on an Erasmus Scholarship.

As a lawyer at the Brussels Bar since March 2009, he has gained solid experience in environmental law (including urban and environmental permits, spatial planning law, soil contamination, electromagnetic waves and noise nuisance).

He also has expertise in public contracts and concessions, civil service law, the public domain, questions concerning the constitutionality of taxes and constitutional and administrative law in general.

He appears regularly as a lecturer at seminars on disputes relating to wind farms and the ways in which these disputes can be anticipated.

He is fluent in French (mother tongue), English, Dutch, German and Italian.

She specializes in data protection and privacy  issues, as well as psychosocial risks at work (harassment and violence, discrimination, etc.).

Camille Jacquemin (born 1990) obtained her Bachelor's degree in Law from the Facultés Universitaires Saint Louis (2011, cum laude). She subsequently graduated as Master of Laws from Ghent University (2013, cum laude). While studying for her Master's degree, she had the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus programme at the University of Glasgow.

Sania KHAN BHATTI obtained her Masters in Law in International and European Law in 2014 at the KU Leuven.
She is a member of the Brussels Bar since 2014 and joined Janson Baugniet in 2016. Prior to that, she worked at another independent Belgian law firm.
Sania is currently pursuing an LL.M. in social law at the Free University of Brussels.

Lévy Morelle Arnaud

 

Arnaud Lévy Morelle (born 1986) graduated from the Brussels School of Law in June 2009. During his studies, he also spent time at the Charles University of Prague under the Erasmus exchange programme.

Admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2009, Arnaud first worked for a law firm specialising in inheritance law.   

In 2012, he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Trade Law from Sussex University (U.K.). He joined Janson Baugniet in September 2012.

He mainly focuses on contract law, commercial law, insolvency law and inheritance law.

Since September 2014, he has also worked as an assistant on the Civil Law course in the Faculty of Law at the Free University of Brussels.

Morel de Westgaver Ophélie

 

Ophélie Morel (born 1989) graduated from the Université Catholique de Louvain in 2012 (magna cum laude).

She joined Janson Baugniet in 2012, and has been a member of the French-Speaking Brussels Bar since November of that year.

She practises and specialises in distributorship law, and more specifically handles situations involving commercial intermediaries (dealership, franchising, agency). Her practice in these areas includes advising clients, handling litigation cases before the Courts and drafting contracts, pre-contractual information files, general terms and conditions of sale, etc.

As part of the Banking and Finance Department, she is also experienced in company law, credit law and commercial law in general.

She speaks French and English and has a good knowledge of Dutch.

She is also a lecturer at the Université de Mons (Constitutional Law).

Yves SACREAS (born 1977) was admitted to the Brussels Bar in October 2006. Before then, he worked as an assistant at the Institute for Constitutional Law at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.

He practises public law in the broad sense, in particular administrative law, country and city planning, environmental law and criminal law.

He both advises clients and represents them before the courts in the above-mentioned fields of the law. Yves Sacreas also regularly represents clients before the Council of State (the highest administrative court) and the Constitutional Court.

He has wide experience of oral arguments, and even represented Belgium as a student in the Philip C. Jessup. International Law Moot Court Competition (Washington D.C., U.S.A.).

He has also published various papers in legal journals (such as: "De ondergeschikte besturen: een stand van zaken", T.B.P., 2004, 67-84) and opinion pieces in newspapers (such as: "De politieke verantwoordelijkheid van Daems in het Sabena-dossier", published in the Financieel Economische Tijd of 5 February 2003).

Thiry Laurent

 

Laurent Thiry (1990) obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law (2011, cum laude) and his Master of Laws (2013, cum laude) from the Université catholique de Louvain. While studying for his Master's degree, he had the opportunity to work as an intern at the Court of Appeal of Mons.

He subsequently obtained an LL.M. in European Law at Leiden University (2014, cum laude), where he specialised in Competition Law. He wrote his thesis about “Competition law in the air transport sector”.  

Admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2015, he joined Janson Baugniet the same year, in the Energy and Transport department. 

He focuses mainly on energy law, administrative law and environmental law. 

He is fluent in French and English and has a basic knowledge of Dutch.

Jorien Van Belle (°1991) obtained her master of laws, specialization in administrative and constitutional law, at the Free University of Brussels (VUB, 2014). During her masters, she also studied at the Free University of Amsterdam (VU) in the context of an Erasmus programme.
In addition, she obtained an LL.M. International and European Law : Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam (UvA, 2015).
Since 2015, she was admitted to the Brussels Bar and joined the law firm Janson Baugniet the same year.
She is part of the administrative and public law department and specializes in particular in town and country planning law, environmental law, and procurement contracts.

Vannerom Johan

 

Johan Vannerom (born 1984) graduated as a Master of Law from KU Leuven in 2007 (magna cum laude). He holds an additional Master's degree in Canon Law (KU Leuven, magna cum laude, 2008) and obtained a Certificate in Private International and Comparative Law from the University of Vienna ('mit Auszeichnung', 2007). Johan obtained a Ph.D. in Law after the successful defence of his thesis on "Consumer Protection during the Currency of the Credit Agreement" (KU Leuven 2014). He was a Visiting Researcher at King's College London, School of Law and at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. As from October 2014 he is a senior affiliated researcher at KU Leuven.

He was called to the Brussels Bar in 2007. At Janson Baugniet, he advises financial institutions on banking and financial law. He specializes in consumer and mortgage credit law.

As from January 2017 Johan is a member of the Expert Committee, an advisory body with Ombudsfin.

He publishes regularly in Belgian and European law journals (https://lirias.kuleuven.be/cv?u=U0060063) and is also a speaker at both national and international conferences.

He is a member of the editorial board of Ius Mercatorum, DCCR and "Jaarboek Kredietrecht".
