Candice Lecharlier

Candice is an associate in the EU & Competition team. She advises and represents clients in complex EU, competition, and sanctions cases before both national and European authorities and courts.

 
 

Candice assists clients at the intersection of EU law, competition law, regulatory, and EU restrictive measures.

She has developed a strong expertise in EU restrictive measures law, particularly in asset-freeze derogations, delisting procedures, and litigation before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Belgian Council of State.

She also advises on competition and regulatory matters in various industries, including telecom, defence, and private security; as well as procedures before the European Commission, the Belgian Competition Authority and BIPT.

Candice speaks French and English.

    • Representation of DIGI Communications in its access to and development in the Belgian telecommunications market

    • Advising on the implementation of regulatory frameworks and competition rules in the telecom sector

    • Advising clients on applications for derogation under the EU restrictive measures regulations before the national competent authorities

    • Representing clients in proceedings before the Belgian Council of State and national courts concerning the implementation of EU restrictive measures regulations

    • Representation of a large defence group in an antitrust complaint

    • Supporting a European music label in proceedings before the European Commission

    • Assisting clients in the automobile sector with notifications to the Belgian Competition Authority

    • Representing private security companies in various EU law matters

    • Assisting clients in administrative proceedings regarding state aid measures in the context of the pandemic  

    • Advising clients on grant agreements with EU institutions

    • Assisting clients on complaints alleging unlawful State aid

    • Advising clients on the abuse of economic dependence and representation before the Belgian Competition Authority

    • Advising insurance companies on compliance with EU competition rules

    • Advising clients in the context of disputes related to football players’ transfers and training fees
