Charles Bernard

Charles is partner in Janson's intellectual property department. He has extensive experience in IP-related litigation and advisory practices and enjoys an excellent reputation.

 
 

Charles has more than ten years of experience and specializes in all legal aspects related to intellectual property. 

Charles' practice and expertise focus on intellectual property litigation and advice, with a particular emphasis on patent, trademark and copyright law. 

He is also active in litigation and advice on trade secrets, unfair competition law and market practices, as well as on research and development contracts and personal data protection. 

He teaches patent litigation at the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies of the University of Strasbourg (CEIPI) and regularly gives seminars on intellectual property law.

He works in French and English and has a good knowledge of Dutch.

    • Representation of a French company in several copyright disputes concerning the infringement of copyright on furniture

    • Representation of a group of European companies and universities in a dispute concerning a research contract funded under the H2020 program

    • Representation of a lime producer in the context of a patent nullity action

    • Representation of an aeronautical company in a dispute concerning trademark infringement

    • IP audits (analysis of trademark and patent portfolios)

    • Drafting of various agreements - technology transfer agreements, assignment agreements, license agreements, coexistence agreements, music and film industry agreements, etc.
