Martine Berwette

Martine is a partner in the commercial law department of Janson. She has extensive experience in civil procedure, corporate law and personal data protection (GDPR).

 
 

Martine has more than 30 years of experience and is specialised in civil procedure, corporate law, contract law, trademark law and copyright law.

She has also assisted numerous companies and organisations in their compliance with the GDPR and in the management of incidents involving personal data (loss and theft of data).

She has extensive experience in Congolese labour law.

Martine is a teacher at the Brussels Bar (Bar admission course), scientific collaborator (ULB Mons)  and an assistant at the university (ULB) in civil litigation law. She is also a teacher in the continuing education course on "Judicial Expertise Law" which is part of the university certificate "Criminalistics and Forensic Psychiatry" of the ULB.

She works in French and English.

    • Advising large mining, recycling, construction, brewing, real estate and chemical companies.

    • Advising comic strip authors and companies in the artistic field (and litigation).

    • Assisting numerous companies and entities (including law firms) in their compliance with the GDPR and in the management of incidents  or proceedings involving personal data.

    • Negotiating and drafting agreements for mining, recycling, brewing, real estate and chemical companies (confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, research and development agreements, sale and purchase agreements, licenses, leases) as well as copyright and trademark agreements.

    • In-company assistance in support of the legal department.
