Melanie Sleutjes is senior associate in our Corporate and Commercial team. She focuses on corporate and commercial law and insolvency & restructuring, with a clear focus on litigation.
Melanie Sleutjes joined the bar in 2014 and has more than ten years of experience in corporate and commercial law.
Within the firm, she focuses on litigation, in which she has gained extensive experience. Melanie has already assisted several (former) directors, shareholders and companies in civil proceedings and has experience in conducting arbitration proceedings. Furthermore, she also likes to focus on insolvency cases.
She strives to adopt a thorough, pragmatic and socially engaged approach and she aims to achieve sustainable solutions, where possible through negotiation or mediation.
Melanie works in Dutch (her native language), French and English.

Assisting former directors of a bankrupt listed media holding company in the context of directors' liability
Handling post-acquisition disputes following the acquisition of shares (assisting both sellers and buyers of shares), including for Cepani arbitration
Handling pre-contractual disputes in the context of the breakdown of negotiations
Assisting and representing companies, shareholders and directors of companies in internal disputes (between shareholders/directors) and external disputes (with business partners), both before the Belgian courts and in the context of mediation
Assisting companies in difficulty and conducting judicial reorganization proceedings
