Muriel Baudoncq

Muriel is a partner in Janson's Banking and Financial Law department. She is an expert in complex financial regulatory matters, both in Belgian and European law.

 
 

Muriel has more than 20 years of experience and regularly advises Belgian and international clients on the regulation of financial products and the licenses and authorizations required to carry out, offer or market regulated activities in Belgium such as banking activities, MiFID investment services, asset management, insurance activities,...  She also advises intermediaries (brokers, agents, tied agents, business introducers).

She also has a specific expertise in international matters and assists clients established in other European countries or outside Europe who wish to provide their services in Belgium.

Muriel is also a recognized expert in the asset management industry. She advises and assists management companies, distributors and other intermediaries in the marketing of funds to both professional and retail investors. She has also assisted clients in the creation of Belgian funds (institutional SICAV, Pricaf). Her expertise covers UCITS and alternative funds. 

She works in French, English and Dutch.

    • Assisting a Belgian service provider in its application for authorisation as a portfolio management and investment advisory company

    • Advising a Belgian bank on compliance with its obligations under the capital adequacy regulations

    • Advising a client wishing to market financial products related to crypto-currencies

    • Assisting numerous management companies in the marketing of funds in Belgium, the drafting of advertising documents and other notices and their approval by the FSMA

    • Regularly advising a Belgian bank with regard to the marketing of savings accounts

    • Negotiating and drafting various contracts for derivative transactions (ISDA/CSA, GMRA, etc.)

    • Assisting and supporting a family office on the legislation concerning financial planning consultations

    • Assisting an American investment firm wishing to offer its services in Belgium
