Paul-Henry Delvaux

Paul-Henry Delvaux has been heading the firm’s "Liability and Insurance" practice for over twenty years.  He is a recognised specialist in that field of law which he lectured for a long time at the Catholic University of Louvain.

 
 

Paul-Henry Delvaux has been practicing law for over forty years in the field of contractual and extra-contractual liability law, and in particular in matters related to medical liability, professional liability and construction liability.

He is a recognised specialist in liability insurance and construction insurance, and is involved in both consulting and litigation.

He was an assistant professor at the Catholic University of Louvain and later a lecturer until 2008 at the same institution.

He also taught insurance law at the University Center of Charleroi and at the International Institute of Insurance Law in Yaoundé (Cameroon).

Since 1975, he has been an effective member of the Insurance Commission of the FSMA, the insurance industry’s regulator.

    • Counsel to various insurance companies in matters of construction insurance, health and accident insurance, fire insurance and theft insurance

    • Defense, in particular, for more than fifteen years, of insurers in various construction liability claims affecting the headquarters, in Brussels, of the Commission of the European Union

    • Counsel to numerous individuals in matters of medical liability and traffic accidents or accidents of daily life causing bodily injury

    • Counsel to numerous individuals in matters of personal injury assessment

    • Counsel to various large Belgian construction companies

    • Counsel to an airline company in the context of an air disaster that occurred in 1995 near Bucharest

    • Counsel to some of the victims of the Brussels bombings of March 2016
