Wafa Lachguer
Wafa is an associate in the EU & Competition team. She advises and represents clients in complex EU, competition, and sanctions cases before both national and European authorities and courts.
Wafa assists clients at the intersection of EU law, competition law, regulatory, and EU restrictive measures.
She has developed a strong expertise in EU restrictive measures law, particularly in asset-freeze derogations, delisting procedures, and litigation before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Belgian Council of State.
She also advises on competition and regulatory matters, including telecom, postal, and digital platform regulation, as well as procedures before the European Commission, the Belgian Competition Authority and BIPT.
Wafa speaks English, French, Italian and Arabic.

Representation of DIGI Spain in securing commitments in the merger between Orange Spain and MásMóvil
Advising on the implementation of regulatory frameworks and competition rules in the telecom sector
Advising clients on applications for derogation under the EU restritive mesures regulations before the national competent authorities
Representing clients in proceedings before the Belgian Council of State and national courts concerning the implementation of EU restritive measures regulations
Assisting clients in delisting procedures before the EU Council and in appeals before the Court of Justice of the European Union
Supporting a European music label in proceedings before the European Commission concerning the application of the Digital Markets Act
Advising in the postal services sector on competition and antitrust matters
Representing a European company in successfully challenging Belgium’s transposition of the Single-Use Plastics Directive
Assisting in the implementation of the Whistleblower Protection Directive and its Belgian transposition measures
