Social responsability

Janson and its attorneys are convinced that the legal profession plays a key role in the development of a truly sustainable, fair and inclusive society.

Janson has identified three main areas where it can have an sensible impact, both internally in the way the firm runs its activities and externally in the services that it offers to its clients.

In this context, Janson commits to contributing to the following Sustainable Development Goals developed by the United Nations.

Janson is implementing an ambitious policy to reduce its environmental footprint, which mainly consist in reducing its consumption of energy and other products, favoring energy produced from renewable sources for the remaining part of the energy consumed, favoring  sustainable and socially responsible products, as well as recycling and avoid single-use products as much as possible.

Further, Janson has been advising and representing clients on numerous projects that contribute to the development of a low carbon and sustainable society, including: the development of onshore & offshore wind projects, photovoltaic parks, hydroelectric power plants, biogas plants and biomass.

Janson ensures equal professional opportunities for everyone and prioritizes diversity within the firm. In 2022, about 50 % of the firm's attorneys and employees are women.

Our primary goal is to maintain this ratio, and ensure better access for woman to senior positions. In this context, Janson has developed several internal policies covering maternity leaves, flexibility and reduction of working hours, participation to specific networks and workshops in order to enable women to grow and strive within the legal profession (such as WILL – Woman in Law Leadership –) etc.

A sustainable fair and inclusive society must be based on the rule of law and a good administration of justice.

Janson is committed to the good functioning of justice institutions in Belgium, the European Union and others countries.

Janson is engaged in the conduct of pro bono initiatives, in the good administration of justice,  and the dissemination and improvement of the legal culture in the society.

Janson is proud to have attorneys who are deputy judges, others who are professors or academic assistants at university or at the bar, a number of them who were head of the Brussels’ bar, and a great number of attorneys who have been involved in the Brussels, Flemish and Walloon bar institutions in general.
