Co-head of Janson’s Public and Administrative Law practice

Günther is a Partner and co-head of Janson's Public and Administrative Law department. For more than 25 years, he has been focusing on the various aspects of administrative law, in particular urban planning, environmental law and public procurement law.

Practices :

  • Günther assists companies and public authorities on a wide range of administrative law issues. He has an all-round expertise in all aspects of urban planning and environmental law.

    He has a particular experience in all kind of administrative law issues related to utilities and network industries, such as domain concessions and licenses. From his background as an inhouse-counsel of a grid operator, he also has a broad knowledge of energy law and in particular network related issues.

    He works in Dutch, French and English.

    • Defending a telecom operator’s environmental and urban planning permits in numerous litigations (Flemish, Walloon and Brussels Capital region)

    • Defending a metalworking industry against a soil liability claim

    • Advising a gas grid operator related to urban planning and public domain issues

    • Assistance of a pharmaceutical company regarding environmental law and urban planning issues related to the extension of its factory

    • Advising a security company on topics related to public procurement

    • Defending of environmental permits granted to an electricity grid operator

    • Successful action against a decision refusing an authorisation for a direct line

    • Assisting on the regularisation of a heat network of a chemical company

    • Successful defending of an environmental permit for the construction of a school campus

    • Assisting of a real estate promotor regarding all kind of environmental and urban planning issues linked to the redevelopment of a site

    • Defending an industrial bakery against an expropriation claim
