Jens has over 10 years of experience in banking, corporate and commercial law, including insolvency law.

He has a particular passion for litigation and dispute resolution. Jens regularly represents banks in litigation regarding loans and payment services and acts on behalf of shareholders, creditors and companies in corporate disputes and insolvency matters. His expertise also includes commercial lease disputes and contract negotiations.

Moreover, he is one of the few lawyers in Belgium with experience in litigation finance, due to his time as in-house counsel with a litigation funder. This also allowed him to gain experience in cross-border securities litigation, collective redress and asset recovery.

He is also an arbitrator at the Belgian Centre for Sports Arbitration (CSAR).

Jens held a position as part-time teaching assistant at the University of Leuven (KUL) from 2013 to 2016 in the department for contract law.

His working languages include Dutch, French and English.

• Advising investors on recovery of losses suffered due to corporate wrongdoing (e.g. accounting irregularities, share-price manipulation, miss-selling of financial products)

• Representing a Dutch Stichting Administratiekantoor in a cross-border corporate dispute

• Defending one of the main Belgian banks in the largest ever collective action in Belgium

• Representing banks in numerous disputes regarding funding loss suffered due to early redemption of commercial credit agreements

• Representing banks in litigation regarding investment mortgages, including the negotiation and implementation of a collective settlement with several hundreds of plaintiffs

• Drafting and negotiating litigation funding agreements

• a judgment creditor in a cross-border enforcement matter involving several foreign jurisdictions

• Representing creditors of a defunct construction group in D&O liability litigation

• Representing companies and shareholders in interim proceedings regarding the appointment of a temporary trustee

• Representing a Belgian football club in proceedings against the Belgian Football Federation before the Belgian Court of Arbitration for Sport.
